Field Safety Manager

Position Overview
The Field Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs across construction projects. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific safety programs and procedures for construction projects
- Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure OSHA compliance
- Lead daily and weekly safety meetings with field personnel and subcontractors
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions
- Provide safety training and certification programs for employees and subcontractors
- Review and approve site-specific safety plans submitted by subcontractors
- Maintain safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and incident logs
- Coordinate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution
- Manage relationships with OSHA representatives and other regulatory agencies
- Monitor and track safety metrics, preparing regular reports for management
- Evaluate and recommend safety equipment and PPE for various project needs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field
- 5 years of construction safety management experience
- OSHA 30
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA construction standards and regulations
- Strong understanding of construction methods and industry best practices
- Experience with safety management software and reporting systems
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification
- First Aid/CPR Instructor certification
- Previous experience in commercial construction safety management
- OSHA 510 certification
- OSHA 500 Trainer certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to access all areas of construction sites, including climbing ladders and scaffolding
- Capable of standing/walking for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in various weather conditions and temperatures
- Visual acuity to identify safety hazards and conduct detailed inspections
Work Environment
- Primary work location is at active construction sites
- Exposure to typical construction environment conditions
- Full-time position with rotating weekends
