What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cath Lab Rad Tech position at Powers Health?
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the supervision and direction of the Supervisor/Manager and with medical direction from physicians, the Cardiac Cath Lab Radiological Technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that will require administering of prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. The Cardiac Cath Lab Radiological Technologist will be expected to function with independent judgment and with little or no assistance to maintain department standards in a sterile environment. At Management discretion, employees may be assigned to work at any of the Powers Health hospitals as needed. Employees will be assigned “On Call” coverage to meet the needs of the department.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an A.R.R.T. certified school of radiological technology.
- Must be ARRT registered.
- Must have a current license to operate radiologic equipment in the State of Indiana.
- One year of experience, in general radiology preferred.
- Experience in Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Radiology Lab, Electrophysiology or Special Imaging preferred.
- Should have a working knowledge of Angiographic procedures and sterile techniques.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months from starting date.
- Successful completion of basic arrhythmia course and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Course.
