What are the responsibilities and job description for the Decision Support Analyst position at Powers Health?
Reports to the Director of Finance-Decision Support and under general supervision will maintain cost accounting and decision support functions; conduct financial, statistical, and analytical studies; prepare and assist in the preparation of financial analysis. Utilize data analytics dashboards to enhance the cost accounting and data analytics process for the cost accounting team and other customers, and perform related duties as required. Create and interpret financial analyzes and reports. This person will participate in various analytical tasks, including budgeting, business plan development, service line reporting, revenue analysis, and various ad hoc projects. Possess a solid understanding of financial and clinical data from multiple sources, along with the ability to synthesize information for effective organizational planning. Functions as a bridge between Finance, Administration, and Operations, ensuring smooth communication across these departments. Possess a working knowledge of Decision Support and Cost Accounting and have a thorough knowledge of financial systems, and patient data sources. This individual will use dashboards and decision support data and participate in monthly, quarterly and annual cost accounting reconciliations, analysis, and reporting. They will perform monthly financial statement reporting and analysis and assist in the annual operational budget process.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Data Analytics considered.
One to three years’ experience as a Healthcare, Financial, Cost Accounting, or Decision Support Analyst.
Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel and other data management systems is required.
Knowledge of reporting, financial and cost accounting systems and electronic medical records systems preferred.
Previous experience in a healthcare system preferred.
Possess analytical, detail-oriented, technical, and problem-solving skills.
Self-driven with creative approach to problem-solving, able to work independently while meeting strict deadlines.
Diligent nature to detect, track and resolve technical problems involving a variety of financial reporting systems.
Capable of synthesizing complex data sets and communicating findings effectively to different audiences.
Possess excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills to present results of statistical and financial findings in laymen's terms for business customers.
Knowledge of Strata Decision Support, Horizon Performance Manager, Dashboards, Axiom, Peoplesoft products, HBI, EPIC Tibco Spotfire, Tableau or similar preferred.
