POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Fitness Services, provides facility oversite during weekday morning and evening hours as well as weekends when there is no Supervisor or Manager in the facility. Provides ongoing programming support to the Supervisor Fitness Services.
FP LEAD JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma with 1-2 years’ experience working in a health and fitness facility, including cardiovascular and resistance equipment use. Personal Trainer or other appropriate industry certification required within six (6) months of employment for candidates with less than a BS/BA degree. BS/BA degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related Health/ Business field preferred. Possesses a technical knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology, and various methods of a fitness evaluation. Requires good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to understand and implement verbal and written instructions. Must be able to multi-task and be people-oriented. Requires good computer skills. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Active membership in national organization devoted to the promotion of health and fitness desirable. Active participation in continuing education events desirable. BLS within 90 days of employment required.
