What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Assistant position at Powers Health?
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
The Nursing Assistant participates in prepatory aspects of care including transfers, transporting patients between the department and their hospital room or to diagnostic areas. The Nursing Assistant assists the department in the location, organization and cleaning of equipment and maintaining the department in a clean, safe and orderly state.
The Nursing Assistant participates in the transport of specimens and records to appropriate departments.
The Nursing Assistant provides a liasion between the patient/family and Emergency Department personnel.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
- One year direct patient care experience with successful completion of competency exam, completion of one semester of clinicals in nursing program or completion of nursing assistant certification required.
- CPR certification required.
- Completes annual skill validations as well as safety and infection control procedures.
