Operational Assistant Job, 8 Hour Day Shift (7-3:30p or 7:30-4p), Intermediate Care
Powers Health is hiring an Operational Assistant for Intermediate Care to work days at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.
The Intermediate Care is a 32-bed multidisciplinary 24-hour unit located on the third floor of the Parkview Tower. Patients over the age of twelve may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 67. The highest volume of medical diagnosis, but surgical patients are admitted. The most frequent diagnosis include: angina, R/O or Post MI, Cardiac dysrhythmia, CAD, COPD, CHF, pre-post PTCA, post stent, general surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring/observation post-op, diabetes, CVA and peripheral vascular diseases.
Operational Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides secretarial support to the manager, department and physician advisors.
- Utilizes tools to streamline day-to-day activities and to create appropriate reports, schedules and documentation; organizes, updates and controls filing systems as required by the department.
- Maintains a high level of initiative, dependability and motivation.
- These endeavors are conducted within established objectives, procedures, and philosophical framework of the Department of Patient Care Services and The Community Hospital.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Two years of secretarial experience preferred
- Medical terminology background preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills and programs, including word processing and statistical data
