Position: Patient Service Representative
Location: St. John, IN
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Patient Services Supervisor, interacts daily with patients, insurance carriers, and staff members; provides information in response to inquiries; assists in resolving problems regarding services, insurance claims, and billing questions.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School graduate (or GED equivalent)
- 1 year prior medical office registration or billing experience required; physician practice setting preferred
- Possess general understanding of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding
- Comprehend government and third part billing regulations
- Display proficient use of Microsoft office applications, able perform internet navigation and use a variety of information systems to conduct tasks
- Able to operate general office equipment, including but not limited to: adding, facsimile, photocopy, printing, and scanning devices
- Demonstrate empathetic and effective communication and problem solving skills
- Able to handle complaints and unpleasant conversations with a calm demeanor
