Position Overview
Powers & Sons Construction is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to join our Indianapolis team. The ideal candidate will provide on-site leadership for construction projects from groundbreaking to completion, ensuring that all work meets our high standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily on-site supervision of subcontractors and direct labor personnel
- Coordinate project schedules and activities with the project management team
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications
- Review construction drawings and documents to plan work activities
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks throughout all project phases
- Maintain accurate daily logs of site activities, progress, and potential issues
- Coordinate material deliveries and manage on-site inventory
- Facilitate effective communication between office staff, field personnel, subcontractors, and clients
- Identify and resolve construction issues promptly to minimize delays
- Participate in client meetings and provide regular project status updates
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and industry standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints
- Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office applications
- OSHA 30-hour certification (required)
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
- Degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
