Powers Project Managers plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities include budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Supervise and manage a team of construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Install, maintain, or repair HVAC control systems, devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of Mechanical and Electrical layouts and building plans.
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  •  Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Demonstrate new systems for customers and explain details of the operation.
  • Ensure quality on job sites through QA/QC procedures, maintaining standards of excellence in all stages of projects and handoff.
  • Conduct on-site training sessions with technicians to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles and uphold Powers standards
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work is typically performed on the site of the customer facility.
  • Travel to client sites in varying weather conditions is a routine part of the work.
  • Subject to commercial and/or residential building conditions.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven working experience in construction management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building automation products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture.”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Professional image in personal appearance and behavior
  • Ability to prioritize work and organize tasks.
  • Excellent communication, mature judgment, and interpersonal skills

 

This is a Safety Sensitive position.
