The Controls Specialist will install, service, and/or repair HVAC Controls systems in commercial establishments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install controls components at the highest quality
- Read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Organize work and meet deadlines.
- Work as a team to complete projects.
- Check out proper operation of building controls.
- Manage, install, and start-up new Federal projects.
- Work with multiple types of control systems (Siemens, Talon, Delta, KMC, JCI, Distech, Honeywell, etc.)
- Perform and maintain all Controls PM contracts at Federal facilities.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
- 50% Travel expected throughout GSA Region 7
Skills and Qualifications
- Niagara N4 certification with 3-5 years active set-up and programming experience required.
- 5 years’ Electrical and/or HVAC experience
- Exceptional customer relations and communication skills
- Understanding of Building Automation Software (BAS).
- Advanced understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Must be Detail oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
- Must be Reliable – The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
- Must be Responsible – Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one’s conduct.
- Must already have or be able to obtain GSA HSPD 12 clearance.
- Strong computer experience, system networking a plus.
