Our Equipment Startup Technicians are responsible for the Startup, Verification, and Commissioning of HVAC systems utilizing knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, control systems, welding, and plumbing. As a Powers Equipment Startup technician, you are also responsible for excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform startup procedures on multiple manufacturers HVAC equipment.
- Maintain certifications required to meet factory certified startup requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Able to organize work and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Work individually or as a team to complete projects.
- Understands and has mastered the refrigeration cycles.
- Understands and has mastered refrigeration recovery, evacuation, and charging.
- Understands and has mastered the heating cycle.
- Understands and has mastered electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC
- Understands and has mastered currents, single phase circuits, three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits.
- Understands and has mastered the fundamentals of temperature and humidity measurement and how it affects conditioned environments.
- Understands and has mastered all types of HVAC systems and how each component within the system operates in conjunction with the other components
- Understands and has mastered and how each component impacts the overall operations of the systems as a whole.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems.

- Safety Aware
- EPA Universal Certification
- 3-10 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience
Physical Demands
- Able to lift and carry 10-50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. with assistance, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, may experience prolonged and irregular hours, and work with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening and have a clean driving record.
This is a Safety Sensitive position.
