We will be hiring ONE electrical controls technician to join our field installer crew.
This does require nationwide travel, up to 2 weeks at a time.
Start date would be July 15th.

Electrical Controls Technician
Description:
This is an on-the-job training position. We are willing to train the right candidate
The primary role of the Electrical Controls Technician is to mount and integrate electronic safety devices for machine guarding projects nationwide and assist on industrial automation systems. This position will directly train and report to our Controls Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Mount electronic safety devices, as well as field routing and wiring on machine guarding, installs at customer locations around the country
- Installations are nationwide and can require up to 2 weeks on the road
- Assist install crews with the installation of safety guarding
- Troubleshooting electrical control circuits
Secondary:
- Assist in electrical wiring of new build control panels and equipment in the shop
- Assist Controls Engineer with any projects
- Assist in building automation equipment in the shop
- New equipment installations and startups
General:
- Communicate technical information effectively and help manage controls, instrumentation, and electrical portions of projects
- R&D for new product & service installs
- Other duties assigned by PowerSafe Automation Leadership
Skills:
- Required technical skills:
- General understanding of safety relays
- An understanding of 480V 3ph, 120V, and DC circuits
- Willingness to learn new technology, and electrical controls
- Familiar with general industrial codes and requirements including but not limited to electrical and controls/instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently and safely independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to identify best practices and recommend solutions for electrical, controls/instrumentation, willingness to learn PLC's, VFD's, Pneumatic, hydraulic etc.
- Ability and willingness to learn new tasks not limited to electrical and controls
- Ability to communicate technical support and scheduling well with customers, colleagues, and management in person, over the phone and through email
- Ability to handle stressful situations, extreme temperatures, loud environments and working on your feet for a prolonged period of time safely
- Knowledge of general industrial/electrical safety protocols and procedures
- Knowledge or understanding of multimeter
General:
o Must be flexible to work any shift including weekends, and be willing to travel
- Must be responsible for hand tools needed for installations provided by PowerSafe Automation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be organized with good time management skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed sales goals
- Must be able to help others and be proactive in work plans
- Legally eligible to work in the US
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
o Ability to work in lift equipment at elevations up to 40’
