Overview
By way of first-class management reporting, diligent analyses, and strategic modeling, the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team plays a key role in partnering with the business, providing clear guidance, and identifying key risks and opportunities.
The Pricing Analyst will serve as a key member of the FP&A team reporting directly to the Vice President, Business Finance. This role will play a critical role in PowerSchool's deal desk process by reviewing, analyzing, and finalizing quotes and orders, ensuring accuracy, and understanding financial impacts. This role will support the life cycle of deal desk while collaborating with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Legal, Accounting, and other groups to ensure smooth deal progression and accurate and timely deal closure. This is a foundational hire for the Deal Desk function with opportunies for career growth.
Responsibilities

- Cultivate and sustain strong working relationships with pivotal business partners (e.g. Sales, Sales Operations, Accounting, Legal, Support, etc.) to help facilitate the review and approval process
- Build and review a variety of order forms with differing levels of complexity for accuracy, while ensuring all required approvals, such as discounts and contractual terms, are obtained and clearly documented as well as being fully compliant with PowerSchool’s internal policies
- Assist in delivering ongoing education and training to ensure Sales understanding of and compliance with all deal processes
- Perform financial analyses such as multiple revenue expectation scenarios and gross margin on pricing proposals
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the deal desk function.
- Own discounting and pricing analytics
Qualifications
To be considered for and to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or a similar discipline
- 3-5 years prior experience in deal desk operations, sales support, or contract management is essential
- Experience in structuring multi-element (subscriptions, services and support) contracts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex information and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and revenue recognition principles
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Quote to Cash life cycle and understanding of SaaS (Software as a Service) pricing and licensing model
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced high-tech environment
- Experience in data analysis, modeling and/or financial analysis a plus

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $80,000– $95,000 annually. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
