What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Controls Design Engineer (PLC, HMI, Microgrid, Switchgear) (Hybrid) position at PowerSecure International?
PowerSecure is searching for a Controls Design Engineer II . The Controls Design Engineer II are to provide the electrical / controls design on product improvements for electrical / controls infrastructure of our manufactured product lines as well as coordinate site wide drawings as applicable per site / project. These design activities are to provide assurance that our equipment / sites / projects are being built and / or applied per engineering documents, manufacturing, and other required standards, such as UL and NEC. The main goal is the safety, quality, functionality, and overall conformity of our products. This position's work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex to complex aspects of a project. May supervise and guide lower-level Controls Designers / Control Design Engineers.
Minimum Qualifications : (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills) :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required, electrical preferred.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as : construction drawings, construction specifications, single lines, product manuals, sequence of
operations, control drawings, work instructions, written directions, and markups to electrical / control drawings.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
release review, and design meetings as required with the necessary stakeholders.
Systems team to ensure appropriate communication components are ordered. Design is responsible for setting up Vault structure (folders, items, ECOs) and coordinating with Manufacturing Support.
Controllers, PLC, Woodward, HMIs, Switches, Industrial PCs, etc.
