What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supplier Quality Engineer position at PowerSecure International?
Summary
Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) aids Supply Chain Management to help ensure suppliers processes are in line with the design intent of PowerSecure and verify supplier's systems to ensure they are compliant with PowerSecure's requirements. This includes on-going supply chain company verification and risk analysis.
A successful supplier quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products continually improve to exceed established quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in quality, industrial, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
- ASQ certification preferred.
- 2 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Practical, hands-on experience in supply chain development, qualifying and developing suppliers.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical assembly drawings, Weld and Coating symbols, work instructions, and written directions.
Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP or IFS preferred) Experience in a Leadership role.
Strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution.
Essential Functions
Supplier Quality Engineers will work closely with purchasing and engineering teams to ensure processes are in place to minimize risk and meet product conformance. Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
