Overview:
- The resource will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and support of audiovisual systems.
- You will work closely with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure seamless operation and high-quality performance of AV equipment.
- This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, production experience, and excellent customer service.
- Note this role will be responsible for leading all production coordination, AV event management, Board Meetings, Executive Meetings, and daily AV activities.
Note:
- Shift hours: Work hours are between 6am 5pm. There may be overtime as needed.
- Transportation: Contractor will be required to work at various work sites and must have reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, and provide technical support to audiovisual equipment to include projectors, laptops, desktops, sound systems, video conferencing systems, content management systems and digital displays.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of AV systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support to clients and end-users, resolving AV and basic PC/MAC related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, Vendors, and other team members to plan and execute AV events, meetings, installations, and upgrades.
- Perform site surveys to assess AV needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Document all installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
- Stay up to date with the latest AV technologies and industry trends.
- Train clients and end-users in the operation and maintenance of AV equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices in all AV-related activities.
- Other organizational technology project duties as assigned.
Production as defined below.
Pre-Event Planning and Setup:
- Coordination / Planning: Coordinating with Executive Admins / Meeting Stakeholders to ensure events/meetings are planned, tested, and require minimal event day changes.
- System Design and Configuration: Determining the appropriate AV equipment (e.g., microphones, speakers, projectors, video walls) based on the event's requirements.
- Staging and Layout: Physical setup of equipment in the venue, including arranging cameras, screens, and sound systems.
- Testing and Calibration: Ensuring that all devices are properly connected, calibrated, and tested for functionality, including sound checks, lighting adjustments, and video feed verification.
Event Execution (Live Production):
- Live Sound Mixing: Managing audio levels during the event, ensuring microphones, speakers, and other sound sources are properly balanced and clear.
- Video and Presentation Control: Switching between video sources (cameras, presentation slides, pre-recorded content) and ensuring they are displayed at the correct times.
- Live Streaming: Managing the technical aspects of broadcasting the event live over the internet, ensuring video and audio quality is consistent.
- Camera Operation: Operating or overseeing camera systems to capture footage of the event for live projection or recording.
Post-Event:
- Breakdown and Equipment Management: Disassembling and safely storing AV equipment after the event.
- Post-Production (for recorded events): Editing recorded footage, syncing audio, and preparing content for distribution.
Technical Support During Event:
- Troubleshooting: Providing on-the-spot support in case of technical issues with microphones, displays, or streaming services during the event.
- Monitoring: Continually monitoring all AV systems during the event to ensure smooth operation.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or AVIXA certification in audiovisual technology preferred.
- Proven experience with at least 1 year as an AV Technician or in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of current enterprise conferencing software (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Webex)
- Experience with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron, Shure).
