Inside Sales Representative – Electrical Contractor
Location: Council Bluffs, IA/ Omaha, NE

What You’ll Do:
- Build strong relationships by listening to client needs, offering tailored advice, and delivering quotes that win business.
- Collaborate with our field crews and warehouse team to ensure orders are accurate, on time, and exceed expectations.
- Spot opportunities to upsell—like energy-efficient upgrades or generator maintenance plans—while keeping customer budgets in mind.
- Manage the sales process from start to finish: handle inquiries, process submittals and orders, keep updated delivery dates, and follow up to keep projects moving smoothly.
- Work closely with outside sales, project managers, and tradesmen
- Follow up on sales opportunities
- Stay organized with our CRM and inventory systems to track orders, stock levels, and customer details.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: At least 2 years in sales or customer-facing roles within the electrical or standby generator industry. You know your way around wiring, breakers, or Generac systems like the back of your hand.
- Skills: Strong communication—whether it’s explaining a spec sheet or negotiating a deal, you keep it clear and friendly.
- Customer Focus: You genuinely enjoy solving problems and making clients’ lives easier.
- Team Player: You’ll work closely with our tradesmen and estimators, so passing the baton smoothly is second nature.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable with CRM software, inventory tools, or even just a solid spreadsheet—whatever keeps the job efficient.
- Drive: You’ve got a knack for sales, a sharp eye for detail, and the hustle to get things done under pressure.
Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent; some roles may prefer a degree or coursework in business, electrical systems, or a related field.
· Experience: 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or the electrical industry
Skills:
- Familiarity with electrical products, terminology, or construction processes (e.g., NEC codes, lighting fixtures, switchgear).
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), ERP systems, or Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Certifications: Not always required, but knowledge of electrical systems or prior training (e.g., electrician apprenticeship) is a plus.
Work Environment
· Primarily office-based, with regular hours (e.g., 8 AM - 5 PM).
· May involve occasional travel to trade shows, client meetings, or supplier warehouses.
· Fast-paced setting with frequent phone/email interaction.
Compensation
· Base salary starting at $45,000 with substantial upside for experience and skills
· Commissions or bonuses tied to sales performance.
