Summary :
Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools and products for testing engines, drive train components, vehicles, hydraulic systems and other mechanical equipment.
Essential Functions :
- Autonomously lead projects or product engineering initiatives to drive towards a design that aligns with customer and internal requirements including budgetary considerations.
- Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, fixtures, machines and other mechanical equipment.
- Planning with suppliers and production to meet timeline goals
- Research, design, evaluate and develop machines and tools.
- Work with power producing as well as power generating equipment
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design / drafting equipment and software
- Examine machine failures and locate exact problems. Suggest remedial measures and give repair instructions.
- Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
- Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
- Assist customers in troubleshooting and testing issues.
- Assist production in building and testing machines.
- Develop components and systems in a CAD environment (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).
- Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers in multiple locations.
