JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Materials Manager to oversee and optimize inventory operations within our organization. The successful candidate will manage inventory systems, ensure stock accuracy, minimize costs, and support overall supply chain efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to meet business demands.
· Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies.
· Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and waste.
· Collaborate with Purchasing, Planning, and Operations to align inventory with demand.
· Forecast inventory needs based on sales trends, seasonality, and production schedules.
· Analyze inventory performance metrics such as turns, stock-outs, and excess stock.
· Generate detailed reports on inventory status and provide recommendations for improvement.
· Monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, inventory design adherence, and costs.
· Oversee inventory management software to ensure accurate data tracking and reporting.
· Train staff on inventory processes and tools.
· Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs while meeting service requirements.
· Identify opportunities to reduce waste and enhance cost-efficiency.
· Manage obsolete and slow-moving inventory through appropriate disposition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
· Proven experience as a Materials Manager or similar role.
· Strong knowledge of inventory control processes and best practices (lean experience preferred).
· Proficiency in inventory management software (EPICOR preferred).
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong organizational and communication abilities.
· Ability to work under pressure and to manage competing priorities.
PREFERRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
· Materials leadership experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Device or Energy industries.
· Certification in inventory or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM, or CSCP).
· Familiarity with lean inventory principles and methodologies.
· Experience with MRP Systems.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to forecast demand and align inventory accordingly.
· Leadership skills to manage and train team members effectively.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Office, warehouse, and production environments.
· Occasional travel may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
