About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, attending pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
Main Accountabilities:
- Prepare detailed MEP scopes of work and backup documentation for review.
- Solicit project-specific proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating them for completeness and competitiveness.
- Develop options and recommend best value solution based on cost, engineering, quality or availability of materials.
- Evaluate and select the best value option.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, or Construction Management is preferred.
- 7 years estimating experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or other scheduling related systems.
- Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, estimating techniques, and cost control.
