This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of county buildings, grounds, parks, and sports fields. The specific duties and assignments within this role will vary based on the division to which the employee is assigned (Grounds, Facilities, Custodial), but some crossover responsibilities may be required to ensure the overall maintenance and functionality of county properties. This position requires the ability to work independently alone on assigned tasks and the ability to mentor co-workers during projects.Grounds Division Responsibilities:
- Operate tractors, lawnmowers, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, and other ground maintenance equipment.
- Responsible for independently maintaining and taking ownership of field work.
- Trim and remove trees and shrubs.
- Maintains and repairs landscaping.
- Collect litter and garbage from county property.
- Assist with snow removal operations.
Facilities Division Responsibilities:
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs county buildings, HVAC, lighting, electrical, plumbing, and alarm systems.
- Responsible for maintaining and taking ownership of projects.
- Repairs ceilings, walls, and floors; makes carpentry repairs as needed.
- Repairs doors, windows, and replacement of locks.
- Paint interior and exterior surfaces.
- Monitors security and fire alarm controls to ensure proper functionality and respond as necessary.
- Assist with snow removal operations.
- Constructs and moves furniture.
Custodial Division Responsibilities:
- Cleans, sweeps, mops, waxes, and polishes floors by hand or machine; vacuums and cleans carpets.
- Washes windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls, and ceilings.
- Cleans, restocks, and sanitizes rest rooms, dusts, and vacuums rooms.
- Responsible for locking and unlocking of doors to various County buildings.
- Mixes and labels cleaning solutions and other products.
- Responsible for the inventory and stocking of custodial supplies.
- Collects and disposes of waste.
General Responsibilities (All Divisions):
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment; make minor repairs.
- Responds to after-hours emergencies as scheduled by the supervisor.
