Summary:

The Commercial Offering Manager will help develop and position Powin’s commercial solutions. This role will develop analyses and tools that will contribute to Powin’s technical and commercial market intelligence, the definition and development of Powin’s suite of commercial offerings, and work with technical and commercial teams at Powin to ensure that these offerings are successful. The Commercial Offering Manager will ensure that Powin’s offering set is aligned with our view of where the BESS Market is heading, that its offering set addresses the most critical requirements and needs of Powin’s target markets, and that Powin’s future offerings leverage its current technical capabilities as well as next generation capabilities on Powin’s product roadmap, thus driving sustainable, organic growth.

The Commercial Offering Manager will do a combination of strategic market analysis, technoeconomic modeling, customer requirements development, and new product development. This position will work with a diverse set of stakeholders including Sales & Marketing, Technical Product Management, Engineering, and Executive Leadership on offering development, positioning, and implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Powin’s commercial offering strategy development, ensuring alignment with market needs and Powin’s technical capabilities and unique value proposition: Define and communicate a compelling vision for Powin's technical offerings and the market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences that drive these offerings. Ensure that technical offerings align with market trends, customer needs, regional variations, and the company's overall strategy.
  • Own Powin’s Customer Economic Modeling for Development: Conduct market analysis accounting for BESS use case, customer/segment specific preferences, Powin’s unique strategic advantages, and other key variables, and translate that analysis into an auditable, detailed customer economic model that creates economic rationale for offering and feature development.
  • Conduct Detailed Competitive Landscape Analysis: Enhance, collate, and operationalize the competitive analysis and knowledge that Powin has built by operating in the energy storage space. Apply that analysis to help Sales and Marketing teams with positioning and market expansion, and to ensure the Product and Technology teams maintain industry leading development roadmaps.
  • Ensure Effective Commercialization: Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Applications Engineering teams to develop technical offering rollout plans, ensuring seamless offering launches that maximize business impact through increased sales followed by best-in-class service delivery
  • Provide Ongoing Sales and Service Support: Conduct sales training for both technical and non-technical sales team members. Develop documentation to be used in the sales, installation, commissioning, and ongoing service processes. For new / early offerings participate directly in the sales process as a technical expert and solution architect
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business or engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 7 years of relevant experience in the energy space, with product management, product marketing, project finance, or strategic technical roles preferred
  • Demonstrated analytic thinking, with the ability to see the big picture and interpolate diverse and sometimes divergent data points to develop concise, clearly articulated strategy and associated tactical action plans
  • Existing knowledge of the BESS market: customers and customer segmentation; participants and positioning; product features and functions; industry trends and product roadmap structures
  • Deep knowledge of electricity market participants, structures, trends and growth trajectories
  • Understanding of BESS systems and ability to articulate and quantify how they create stakeholder value
  • Strong customer and client service skills to enable customer discovery and to participate in the sales process
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across levels and functions
  • Strong customer and client service skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Graduate degree in engineering or business

Physical Requirements:

  • Remote opportunity within the United States, with the willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for business

Compensation for this position is commensurate with location, experience and relevant skills.​ The national Average Base Salary Range is ​$112,000-$155,000. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and personal performance. ​Additional Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Short-Term/Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, EAP, 401(k), Flexible Work Arrangements and more.
