What are the responsibilities and job description for the Energy Storage Solutions Architect position at Powin?
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have 8-10 years of industry experience minimum, with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field with emphasis on power distribution or equivalent relevant experience.
You will have working knowledge of electrical design and safety standards, such as NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E, and demonstrated experience interpreting and applying standards in adjacent highly regulated industries.
You will also have experience with electrical modeling software, such as ETAP and PSCAD, managing Arc Flash programs of work for electrical products, and DC Transient modelling and application to DC fuse selection and coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Lead product level AC and DC electrical system studies for grid scale energy storage systems, including short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, load studies, component sizing, DC fuse coordination and AC coordination
- Independently manage third party consultants for safety study programs of work to support new product designs and site-specific requirements
- Develop requirements and templates to support a standard approach to electrical system design and safety for new product development
- Serve as hardware engineering team technical expert on electrical safety related topics, including application to system level studies, task-based risk assessments, requirements during manufacturing and testing and application to installation, commissioning and service activities
