Summary:
The Technical Training Lead will design, develop and deliver training programs for internal employees, third-party service providers and customers. The role will ensure stakeholders have the knowledge and competency required to install, commission and service battery energy storage systems (BESS). The Technical Training Lead will work with cross-functional teams and industry partners to ensure training content and curriculum is aligned with market best practices and is scalable for continued growth.
Job Details:
- Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for internal teams, external partners and customers on the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of BESS products and systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and industry partners to identify training needs and ensure that technical training aligns with organizational goals and market best practices
- Create, update and maintain technical training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, hands-on classroom and on-site training curriculum
- Work with Powin’s Engineering, Field Operations and Technical Publications team to digest Powin BESS product information to inform updates to training curriculums
- Gather feedback from participants and apply insights to improve training effectiveness
- Mentor and guide additional trainers including coaching and feedback on training techniques, ensuring consistency in training quality and conducting train-the-trainer sessions as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates’ degree in Engineering, Education, Technical Communications or relevant fields or equivalent work experience
- 5 years related experience in the renewables, energy storage, or electric utility industry
- Strong technical background in electrical engineering, energy systems, or related fields
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations with the ability to incorporate safety best practices into training materials and sessions
- Strong presentation and communication skills (written, verbal, presenting and listening)
- Experience in developing and implementing training assessments to measure knowledge retention and skill application
- Experience in developing comprehensive training curricula and learning paths for various skill levels
- Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and delivering training using multiple methods (virtual, online/on-demand, in-person)
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and industry developments
- Experience working in high matrixed organizations and working cross-functionally (global preferred)
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills preferred
- Ability to align communications with the end user in focus; ability to deliver structured and simple messages
- High attention to detail and highly organized; ability to multi-task several projects at once
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed for onsite training or other business needs
- This position is based at our training lab in Tualatin, OR, with the flexibility to work remotely when no training sessions are scheduled onsite

Compensation for this position is commensurate with location, experience and relevant skills. The national Average Base Salary Range is $84,000-$112,000. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and personal performance.
