Position Summary
The Audio Visual Operations Associate plays a critical role in the physical setup, operation, and teardown of all AV elements at PPA Tour events across the country. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable with AV gear, and wants to be part of a fast-paced, live event atmosphere.
You’ll be on the front lines helping to bring our tournaments to life—assembling LED walls, rigging up speaker systems, setting up audio mixers, running cables, and breaking it all down once the final match is over. If you’re organized, reliable, and ready to roll up your sleeves, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with setup and teardown of AV systems at PPA Tour venues, including:
- LED walls and processors (Novastar)
- Audio systems (microphones, speakers, mixers)
- Video playback systems (e.g., Resolume)
- Cables, control gear, and support structures
- Ensure gear is transported safely, installed correctly, and packed efficiently post-event.
- Troubleshoot and support AV systems during setup and operation to ensure smooth event execution.
- Coordinate with production, broadcast, and tournament teams to align AV needs and timelines.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and organization throughout each event cycle.
- Report technical or maintenance issues with AV gear promptly to supervisors.
- Safely lift and move equipment (50 lbs ) and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
- Help ensure event sites are left clean and orderly after teardown.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- 1 year of experience with event setup, AV systems, or live event operations preferred.
- Familiarity with AV systems and platforms such as Resolume, Novastar, Microsoft Suite, and Google Drive.
- Technically inclined with a strong attention to detail and a “figure it out” attitude.
- Comfortable working long hours on your feet and in physically demanding environments.
- Strong communicator, dependable team player, and calm under pressure.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work weekends for events nationwide.
