Position Summary:
The AV Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and tearing down audio-visual systems during PPA Tour events. This hands-on role supports the production of live and recorded content, enhancing the energy, atmosphere, and overall presentation of events. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, operate, and dismantle AV systems including microphones, speakers, LED walls/processors, audio mixers, and control systems.
- Assist with multimedia content playback using platforms such as Resolume.
- Operate and troubleshoot systems from Novastar, Microsoft, Google Drive, and other relevant platforms.
- Ensure high-quality audio and visual outputs for both in-venue and broadcast audiences.
- Coordinate with production teams to execute seamless show cues and transitions.
- Maintain and organize AV equipment; identify and report any maintenance needs.
- Lift and transport heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs or more) as needed.
- Adapt to various indoor and outdoor event environments.
- Communicate clearly with team members and other event personnel to resolve technical issues swiftly.
- Ensure and assist in the cleanliness of all event sites upon the conclusion of teardown.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 1 years of hands-on experience in AV installation, operation, tear down, or technical support preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of AV technologies and systems.
- Familiarity with digital media platforms such as Resolume, Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, Novastar, etc.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently for events across the country.
