Position Summary:
Associates in the Trainer/ Production Lead position are responsible for Auditing and Reporting on the Production Quality, driving scrap down, and increasing production utilization and efficiency to assure PPC Management that quality flexible packaging materials are produced on time in accordance with specific work instructions and applicable safety and quality assurance procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:

- Works with HR to assist with on boarding (tours, interviews, and lockers).
- Admin in workforge to assure all yearly training is completed. (750)
- Train, guide, and assist associates in successfully executing their roles.
- Must be flexible in assisting in PLS trials if needed.
- Audit Anilox rollers, glue rollers, and Nip rollers. Send it out for repair as needed.
- Audit Blade, ink, sticky back, and due month end consignments.
- Update training matrix
- Coordinate training for new associates by assigning qualified trainers and monitoring timely completion and documentation of the training program.
- Prioritize safety by encouraging all employees to practice safe working behaviors.
- Select or create the most suitable training programs that align with the organization's needs.
- Work closely with staff, trainees, subject matter experts, and organizational leaders.
- Demonstrate proficiency in teaching and lesson planning, including leading courses or seminars.
- Reviews existing training programs suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention. Make training videos as necessary.
- Utilize critical-thinking skills to assess classes, materials, and programs, identify training needs and implement necessary changes and improvements.
- Ensure training aligns with business goals and objectives.
- Oversee training and staff development initiatives.
- Reviews existing training programs suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention.
- Performs audits of production processes and production associate quality inspections.
- Inspects, identifies, determines root causes, and documents internal rejections in the Quality Management module. Provides samples of the defect, quantity, job number, and operator number(s) for evaluation and to initiate Corrective Action Responses (CARs). Ensures quality hold tags are filled out and affixed correctly to defective material.
- Assists the Production Manager with training production associates toward Quality Certification.
- Closely monitor production associates to ensure all processes are being followed.
- Maintains production equipment and surrounding areas.
- As a support role to the production areas moves freely between departments, this position is expected to maintain a steady and urgent pace to positively impact and inspire the pace of the Associates in the plant.
- Ensures that all responsibilities and functions performed are in accordance with quality standards in place and that they meet the customer’s requirements. Participate in quality programs and be aware of changes and standards within the systems.
- Perform 2nd checks in real time on production lines.
- Ensure quality forms are filled out with as much information so the Quality Assurance Supervisor/Manager can quickly decide on re-work, scrap, and good material.
- Work with the Quality team on new and existing CAPA projects; complete action items in a timely manner.
- Regularly attend the supervisor review meeting.
- Help operators to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Generates improvement ideas and embraces improvement projects to better the business.
- Perform other duties which may be assigned as part of the essential functions of the position.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Able to follow directions, work with little or no supervision, have good math skills, ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and test equipment, and possess good people skills.
- Detail orientation required for auditing completion of required paperwork and information system inputs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Able to read and understand job tickets, and accept verbal direction to successfully complete procedures and assigned tasks.
- Basic knowledge of our product, processes, and equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required, and proven experience with effective teams and continuous improvement methods is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Able to stand on feet for most of the shift.
- Able to tell differences in printed colors and compare to color standards for quality control audits.
