Director Business Intelligence and Analytics
Reporting to the Business Operations VP, the Business
Intelligence Director leads strategic data analysis initiatives (directly
supporting corporate strategy) and provides actionable insights to support
business operations decision-making. This role will leverage advanced analytics
techniques and tools to extract, transform, and analyze data from various
sources, generating valuable insights to drive business growth and efficiency.
Additionally, this role will oversee the development and maintenance of BI
solutions, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and usability across the
organization.
As a key member of the Business Operations Leadership Team,
the Business Intelligence Director will be accountable and responsible for
developing PPC’s Business Intelligence framework, structure, systems, and team,
which will be tightly aligned with the Business Operations Team goals and the
company’s overall strategic direction. This role will identify data requirements by operating company and
function and deliver data in a repeatable, consumable format that allows for
quick, effective, decision-making.
- Utilizing BI tools and analytics to identify inefficiencies in operational processes, supply chain management, and service delivery focused on reducing job and employee productivity losses.
- Analyzing services data to optimize resource allocation, and minimize waste while improving estimating, procurement processes, and overall cash flow.
- Employing BI techniques to monitor and analyze quality metrics throughout the business.
Identifying patterns and trends in operational data to pinpoint potential quality issues and take corrective actions. - Implementing quality control measures based on daily performance compared to standard to ensure consistency and meet customer expectations.
- Analyzing operational data to identify bottlenecks and streamline workflows across service operations. Focus on productivity, eliminating losses in the system and improving cash flow.
- Implementing process automation where feasible to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Optimizing inventory management through data-driven demand forecasting and supply chain optimization techniques.
- Communicate insights and findings to key stakeholders through compelling visualizations and presentations.
- Act as a strategic advisory to business leaders, providing insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Facilitate data-driven discussions and workshops to foster a culture of analytics within the organization.
- Continuously look for opportunities to develop personal skills, skills of the BI team and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
- 10 years’ experience with business systems, data analysis, and reporting. Specific Business Intelligence & Analytics experience is very helpful.
- 5 years of Project Management experience to help effectively lead large-scale solutions.
- Proven experience in building scalable enterprise processes that deliver business impact.
- Experience with tools like SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, etc.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft, UX / UI Design, Technical Documentation
- Technical experience in roles in best-in-class dashboarding and modeling practices.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience effectively working in a diverse, dynamic, and fast-paced business environment.
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation with a bias towards responsiveness to internal and external clients
- Experience deploying new tools in a complex and highly matrixed organization.
- Comfortable leading and evangelizing a data-driven culture that is built around rigor and quality, and yet are comfortable with uncertainty.
- Savvy in the usage of visualization techniques and creating effective dashboards.
- Excels at translating basic business problem statements into analysis requirements and working with internal customers to define the best output based on expressed stakeholder needs.
- Collaborative, diplomatic, and humble. You have no problem rolling up your sleeves and running queries or answering BI tickets yourself.
- Ability to influence others, strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities are critical to success in this position
