Position Summary:
The Tointon Institute for Educational Change has been in place at UNC since 1995. Its primary mission is to provide highly effective, engaging and meaningful professional development for PK-12 principals and teacher leaders in the state of Colorado. The Director oversees all planning and work of the TIEC. The Director develops all programs' scope and sequence, selects and hires facilitators and is responsible for all content of these programs. The Director oversees the development of any new programs or offerings and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Institute. The Director plans and carries out follow up programs for participants. The Director is responsible for meeting with others in the state who conduct similar work, staying abreast of current o ics and providing highly effective, engaging and meaningful professional development for principals and teacher leaders
Minimum Qualifications:
BA, MA in education related field
Principal experience in Colorado
Having attended a Tointon Principal Leadership
Academy and one or more School and
Teacher Leadership Academies
Evidence of knowledge of current trends and issues
in education
Experience leading and planning professional
development for educators
Preferred Qualifications-
MA or Ed.D. or Ph.D. in
educational leadership
Experience with event
planning
Principal experience in
Colorado public schools
Experience with school
district administration
Evidence of ability to
create community quickly with groups of educators
Evidence of logistical
skills related to academy details

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
