MetroPower, Inc. has an immediate opening for 4 Superintendents in the Bainbridge, GA and/or Cottonton, AL area! All positions are regular, full-time positions, and are benefits eligible.

Role & Function

Responsible for the profitable execution of electrical construction projects under his/her management. Primary resource who manages safety, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, profits, and sales growth for concurrent projects involving one or more customers.  Continually prospect for new customers through the execution of existing projects.  Conduct business in accordance with PPC and MetroPower, Inc. mission and vision statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Profitability:

  • Self-starter with a passion to achieve the minimum budgeted net profit for projects with annual percent of at least 2 times the industry average.
  • Manage billing & collections; bill customers at least bi-monthly.  Manage billings for positive company cash flow.  Track accounts receivable and manage working capital to no more than 3% of sales.  Manage to zero 90-120 day receivables.
  • Productivity:  Facilitate constant process improvement in production and efficiency to optimize output of the field workforce.  Implement pre-fab, WENG standards, and other productivity improvement tools to increase field production.  Achieve minimum productivity requirements of 100% while striving for 110% expected goal.
  • Growth:  Prospect for leads through interaction and networking on job sites. Develop productive relationships to help grow the business.


Planning and Monitoring:

  • Forecast weekly goals based on human and material resources and equipment.  Analyze and forecast factors that affect results to maximum efficiency.  Develop appropriate programs, strategies, and supervision.


Personnel Development:

  • Provide personnel development plans, monitoring, coaching, feedback, & growth opportunities to direct reports. Develop at least one candidate to act as back up for the position.  Assess own development needs and plan with supervisor for incorporation into a realistic and timely development plan.


Customer Satisfaction:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers; ensure high quality service is provided to guarantee repeat sales and favorable recommendations.
  • Take prompt action to resolve any customer complaints.

Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:

  • Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
  • Hone observation skills and identify employee unsafe habits and complacency and bring it to their attention.
  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company.  Support and promote goal of achieving zero accidents.
  • Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE requirements.
  • Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel and as appropriate for current management level.  Ensure all employees meet or exceed their required safety training (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, etc.). Investigate & document all accidents; monitor all claims and work with Safety to follow through to completion.


Qualifications and Requirements

This position requires a decisive leader with a passion for hands-on work in outdoor environments and a strong drive for construction project management work. Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.   

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred
  • Ability to supervise 8-10 electricians and apprentices on job site daily
  • Completion of Department of Labor Electrician Apprenticeship Program preferred
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
  • Highly customer-service oriented & a team player; ability to create new and maintain current customers.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured personal transportation is also required


Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

  • 5-7 years prior experience in electrical construction preferably commercial, industrial and or institutional markets
  • Strong knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and budget processes; 2-4 years’ experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 70E
  • PMP Certificate preferred
  • Ability to manage risk & profitability successfully
  • Possession of GA Electrical Contractors License preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Field environment requires ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., crawl, bend, use hands and arms to handle and reach. Travel to various job sites and be exposed to outdoor environment, noise, dust, heat and cold. Extensive standing and walking required.
