What are the responsibilities and job description for the NIGHT - Tutor position at PPEP Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Lead Teacher, assists students with the standards-based curriculum the students must master in order to obtain a high school diploma.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- One-on-one or in small groups, the tutor is responsible for helping students master course assignments, especially in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
- Provides students with remedial instruction, as needed.
- Accurately edits and grades students’ work as requested by the lead teacher.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all student information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Thorough knowledge of Language Arts and/or Mathematics
- Must possess a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- AA or BA in related field.
- One (1) year prior experience working with at-risk students.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to see a computer monitor.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift twenty five (25) pounds).
