Strategic Sales Director, Protective & Marine Coatings

The Strategic Sales Director - Protective & Marine Coatings USCA is responsible for the support and profitable growth of PPG PMC USCA's largest customer, Pittsburgh Paints Co. You will understand distributor networks, and a collaborative approach that results in mutual benefit. You will be an individual contributor and report to the Commercial Director, Protective & Marine Coatings (PMC) USCA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Pittsburgh Paints Company to support protective sales strategies across stores and Independent Distributors
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Pittsburgh Paints Co. leadership, partners, and industry partners to foster collaboration and lead success
  • Communicate internally and with Pittsburgh Paint Company on end use focus segments
  • Participate in conflict resolution discussions emphasizing rules of engagement
  • Participate in collaborative discussions on areas needed to create growth for Pittsburgh Paints Co. in the market in specific end use market segments
  • Provide guidance to team members, ensuring ability to transaction
  • Participate in operational activities that are necessary such as forecasting, demand planning, supply and inventory management
  • Analyze market level metrics to ensure growth with Pittsburgh Paints Co. for previously owned PPG direct business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related degree
  • At least 10 years' experience in strategy, marketing, or sales within the coatings industry
  • Strong business acumen demonstrating ability analyze data for market growth
  • Experience with distributor networks and requirements to be successful
  • Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
