What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller, Aerospace position at PPG Industries?
As Plant Controller, Aerospace, you will be part of the Operations Accounting team under the Global Business Finance Support (GBFS) organization. You will support the Sylmar Aerospace plant and will be a critical member of the plant leadership team, contributing to and leading performance improvement plans at the facility. Through detailed and insightful analytics, you will help to identify areas of focus for productivity and cost improvement and will work cross functionally to ensure alignment, engagement and progress toward clearly defined project goals and deliverables.
You will report to the Operations Accounting Manager, Aerospace, who is located at the company headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You will be onsite four days a week at the Sylmar, CA manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
BUSINESS ANALYSIS AND DECISION SUPPORT (Local Partner)
- Participate in plant meetings to provide insight on results, collect information and challenge performance.
- Support and / or lead plant initiatives to control costs of production.
- Focus on and drive improvement in productivity through analytics and cross functional projects including scrap, productivity, capacity use and addressing bottle necks.
- Push relevant information and analytics to drive local decision-making and a bias for action.
- Support the generation, analysis and explain the drivers for local and business unit KPIs.
- Work with Operations Accounting to provide variance analysis and full understanding of plant level results.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000- $100,000.
