Overview
Director of Operations Services and Direct Procurement leads cross-functional supplier qualification and sourcing activities for assigned spend categories. This role involves developing and executing strategies to centralize all engineering services and direct spending, ensuring sustainable cost reductions, and improving quality, competitiveness, and service levels.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain.
This position can be based out of PPL's corporate offices located in Louisville, KY or Allentown, PA or Providenc, RI
Responsibilities
Develop category strategies for category spend of high complexity and / or magnitude
Manage supply chain and category strategy development process and help integrate with regular business planning and budgeting cycles
Exhibit category expertise, market dynamics and trends knowledge, insights about suppliers, pricing, and negotiating tactics
Act as strategic interface with supplier and drive development of strategic supplier relationship and performance management
Ensure alignment, anticipate changes, and drive activities based on supply market changes and recommendations of category teams
Ensure and promote co-operation and communication between internal stakeholders and participating business units
Conduct regular assessment of Business Partner requirements and matching procurement plans to meet / adapt to business needs
Identify, develop, and implement supply chain initiatives and process improvements for respective areas
Develop competitive solicitation, bid evaluation, and negotiations materials and support bid evaluation, negotiation strategy development, and negotiation execution
Drive selection of suppliers from list of recommended suppliers according to category strategy and recommendations
Lead or co-lead contract and price negotiations with suppliers
Create and update supplier lists according to category strategy
Develop / track agreement SLAs and KPIs to meet the business partner requirements
Lead / conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic suppliers
Work with employees to establish individual development plans and foster a supportive work environment conducive to career growth and development
All other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, supply chain, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience including a strong track record of success in Strategic Procurement, including a minimum of 5 years of formal supervisory experience in Strategic Procurement.
