Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including clinics, hospitals, and outpatient facilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety during transfers and ambulation.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Support clients in following their prescribed care plans, including medication reminders.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings such as clinics, hospitals (including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers), PICU, medical-surgical units, teaching hospitals, emergency medicine departments, and outpatient facilities.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures related to clinic and hospital medicine.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or trauma centers.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and transferring clients safely.
- Certification or training in personal care assistance or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
