Job Summary
In your role, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding service and hospitality to our guests in a warm and professional manner, with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency. Your number one priority is to put patients first and assist them with their needs from the moment they arrive, until they depart. You will also be responsible for parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt and safe manner and for assisting guests with mobility equipment such wheelchairs and walkers. Awareness is the key in everything we do, and the you always need to be aware of any safety issues or concerns in our service areas.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently model the company core values of Patients First, but be mindful that EVERYONE who enters the hospital campus is our guest (i.e. Patients, Visitors, Staff, Physicians, and Vendors)
  • Enthusiastically greet and acknowledge EVERY guest in our service area and assist with their needs.
  • Always speak warmly, professionally, and graciously with a smile, while maintaining eye contact.
  • Promptly open all vehicle doors and welcome guests to the property, whether they are using valet parking, dropping off or picking up someone, going to the emergency room, etc.
  • Display a sense of urgency to serve our guests, assist in anyway possible, and escort our guests to and from the drive and hospital and MOB entrance.
  • Assist physically challenged guests with their wheelchairs, walkers, etc. and exiting from and entry into their vehicles.
  • Issue a parking claim check ticket, explain the procedures to our guest, and accurately and thoroughly complete parking ticket with emphasis on the incoming vehicle damage.
  • Handle guest vehicles safely and cautiously at all times (do not exceed 5mph).
  • Park and fully secure vehicle in approved lots and spaces.
  • Handle keys responsibly and return the set of keys to the valet station with the completed ticket attached, place on the proper hook, and secure the door.
  • Park and retrieve vehicles promptly and safely. Do not perform park and pulls unless authorized and always use your carabiner to secure keys while in your possession. Keys must either be in the vehicles ignition when you are in it (remove when you get out and hand to guest for pulls), your carabiner, or secured on the keyboard in the valet parking podium.
  • Remain in post position when you are not serving a guest and greet and assist each guest in our service areas (from the front doors of the hospital and medical office buildings to the parking lots, garages, and other areas on campus). This includes those guests walking up from the parking areas, waiting outside of the hospital or MOB’s, etc.
  • Direct traffic on the valet drive to ensure the drive is accessible at all times, organized, and safe.
  • Ensure that guest issues are handled in an effective and courteous manner and alert your supervisor and security when applicable, of any incidents relating to the property.
  • Ensure that appropriate service recovery measures are followed through to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Be flexible and receptive to change in work environment and procedure.
  • Keep our service area clean – sweep, wipe down surfaces and equipment, empty trash, pick up trash, etc.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of the area and provide directions for guests and answer any inquiries they may have.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in guest services or customer service is preferred.
  • Ability to drive various types of vehicles, including manual transmission cars.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse guests.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members.
  • Familiarity with retail math for handling cash transactions is beneficial.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
