Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the efficient, cost-effective maintenance, repair and preventative maintenance of all equipment, buildings, and facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs mechanical and electrical repair of all equipment associated with operations.
- Installs valves, piping, pumps, and other processing equipment as required.
- Inspect, clean, and lubricate equipment in accordance with PM schedule.
- Diagnoses problems and determines course of action to solve or correct situation.
- Helps maintain correct spare parts inventory.
- Carries out repairs as directed or in accordance with maintenance schedule.
- Serve as plant representative to contractors working on plant equipment.
- Follows and executes all work perm its as required.
- Demonstrates commitment to Responsible Care in everyday activities.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.
- Comply with company policies.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Vocational or technological school
- Five (5) years of maintenance experience in an industrial plant setting. Performing such tasks as welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, electrical, equipment installation, equipment rebuilds, etc.
- Experience working on pumps (centrifugal, gear, rotary, etc.), gearboxes, motors, conveying systems, etc.
- Experience with SAP, EPAC, Office, Power Bl
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to evaluate issues, identify root cause of failure
- Experienced working in a team environment and working cross functional with other departments

Special Factors
- Industrial plant setting. Chemical manufacturing facility that operates 24/7
- Work hours 5:30 - 2:00pm M-F . Call-in work as required

- Participation in risk assessment audits as applicable
- Understand PQ Principles (PQP) and how they are implemented in the site organization, rules and procedures
