Overview
The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position involves developing and implementing care plans, ensuring the well-being of clients, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote optimal quality of life. The QIDP will utilize their skills in behavior management, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring to provide comprehensive care tailored to each individual's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for clients with intellectual disabilities.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' needs and progress.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor vital signs to ensure health stability.
  • Provide behavior management strategies to support clients in achieving personal goals.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in condition.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to coordinate care effectively.
  • Provide first aid when necessary and ensure a safe environment for all clients.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to senior care and childcare.

Requirements

  • A degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in care planning or working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and first aid practices.
  • Ability to administer medications safely and monitor vital signs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and team members.
  • Compassionate approach towards assisting individuals with diverse needs.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records.

This role is essential for fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities through dedicated support and professional care practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
