What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Coach (Functional Fitness) position at PR Star Fitness?
PR Star Fitness is looking to hire a hard-working, motivated and charismatic individual to join our coaching team and deliver the best health and fitness experience to our 300 members. The current opportunity is for a full-time coach with availability in the morning and evening with 15 hours of group fitness class coaching per week(additional weekend availability considered a plus), and includes opportunities for non-coaching duties. Many opportunities exist for commission based earning on personal training and private group sessions. We are looking for a permanent fit and are looking for the person with the right attitude and work ethic.
We are an established gym located in Chantilly, VA. We have been in business since 2012 and operate with a large and dynamic member base. We have a second location in Dulles, VA.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ideal candidates have a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certificate, Hyrox, NASM, or ACE certification and a minimum of 1 year coaching experience.
Background in CrossFit and Boot Camp/HIITstyle classes desired, as well as personal training experience.
Additional certifications and training such as CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, Olympic lifting, Gymnastics, Endurance, Kettlebell, Personal Training, CSCS, or other health and fitness certifications are a benefit.
RESPOSIBILITIES:
- Coach group style fitness classes (Functional Fitness, Hyrox, CrossFit, Boot Camp, etc.): demonstrate excellent class management skills, maintain safety protocols, ensure proper form, and provide appropriate modifications. Personal training opportunities are also available.
- Handle membership inquiries with sound knowledge of our programs and membership offerings. Meet with new prospective members for Intro Sessions.
- Maintain and nurture established culture and dedication to our members’ experience.
- Adapt coaching style and techniques to accommodate athletes of all levels.
- Ensure every member receives high quality personal attention and coaching in every class.
- Fulfill opening and closing gym responsibilities, keep facility clean and organized.
- Attend, assist with, and promote all community events throughout the year. Become involved with member engagement initiatives.
- Regularly meet with management to discuss coaching practices, community experience, growth opportunities, and coaching development.
- Attend and participate monthly and/or quarterly team meetings. Discuss week’s events, significant changes, feedback, class structure, injuries, and membership changes.
- Communicate class feedback and findings to management for continued gym development.
- Display mastery in human movement, points of performance, and execution.
- Deeply understand the concepts of General Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, CrossFit and Nutrition.
COMPENSATION: Compensation will be based on experience, skill set, and work ethic. Base compensation plus many opportunities for commission based pay exist in this role.
