What You’ll Do:
- Provide small-group instruction: Work closely with teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging and focused ELA and Math lessons to students in grades 3-5
- Support academic progress: Serve as a push-in tutor during school hours and provide additional academic support during after-school programming
- Utilize curriculum: Use school-provided Math and ELA workbooks and curriculum, with access to PRACTICE's supplemental digital resources as needed
- Foster growth: Create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic achievement and resilience
- Collaborate: Work as part of a team dedicated to transforming educational outcomes in underserved communities
- Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Time: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Duration: February 4 – April 10, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
- Key Dates Off:
- February 17 – February 21 (Midwinter Recess)
- March 6 (Elementary and K-8 Parent-Teacher Conferences – Early Dismissal)
- Experience: Previous experience tutoring or teaching ELA and Math to elementary school students
- Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of ELA and Math for grades 3-5
- Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences
- Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students
- Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently
- Competitive Pay: Earn $22/hr with the opportunity to increase to $24.20/hr through a completion bonus
