What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Biller position at Practice Management Group?

This increase in workload opens up several positions:
1) Credentialing Specialist
2) Customer Service
3) Revenue Cycle Reps
4) EDI/ERA Claims Specialist
5) Executive Assistant to CEO & CFO
6) Development (EMR)
Duties vary, below are the basics:
- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Assign appropriate codes to medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and appeal when necessary
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients, and post them to patient accounts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including billing information and payment history
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues or discrepancies
- Stay current with changes in medical billing regulations and coding guidelines
Skills:
- Proficient in medical billing processes, including coding, claim submission, and payment processing
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS
- Experience with EMRs, medical records management, and documentation
- Understanding of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry, claim submission, and payment processing
