Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive, high-acuity care to patients in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU).
- Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, anesthesia, and critical care colleagues to optimize patient outcomes.
- Perform advanced procedures, including intubation, central and arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, and pulmonary artery catheterization.
- Manage mechanical circulatory support systems such as Impella, ECMO, and LVAD, as well as vasoactive/inotropic infusions and ventilator support.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols and clinical pathways tailored to complex cardiac patients.
- Participate in departmental case reviews, strategy meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure meticulous and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Support academic and research initiatives, including participation in clinical trials and cardiac care innovation.
- Fellowship training in Cardiac Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care , or Anesthesia Critical Care is required.
- Candidates with Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) training and additional critical care experience within their fellowship will be considered.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure , or Critical Care Medicine (Medical, Surgical, or Anesthesia).
- Extensive experience in a Cardiac Surgical ICU setting is essential.
