The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing direct medical care to ambulatory patients at the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Brighton clinic facilities in accordance with a prescribed schedule. Diagnoses diseases, conditions and illnesses; prescribes the appropriate type of medications, vaccinations, therapies and treatments. Counsels, guides and educates patients, parents or consented guardians. Refers patients requiring specialized care to appropriate facilities and/or practitioners. The incumbent will serve as a resource and provide consultation to allied programs upon request. Investigates and studies trends in disease and/or injuries that adversely impact the well-being of the patient population. Implements appropriate changes and/or programs to further benefit the patient population.
Medical Doctor’s Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy’s (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school is required. The incumbent must possess a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida, and a Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics or Medical-Pediatrics. A minimum of three (3) to (5) years of postgraduate experience in an ambulatory, acute care or private practice is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
