Responsibilities
Ascension Via Christi is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our hospitalist team in Manhattan, Kansas.
Position Highlights:
- PRN night position with required minimum of 3 shifts per month and 2 weekends per quarter.
- 2-3 years of hospital clinical experience strongly preferred.
- In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
- Obtain patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
- Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral toother healthcare providers or community resources.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Document delivery of health care and processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network policy.
- Largest multi-specialty group practice in Kansas including locations in Manhattan, Wamego and Wichita.
- More than 300 providers in 40 specialties provide mission-minded care for all.
- Academic affiliation with the University of Kansas School of Medicine and sponsorship of 6 residency and 2 fellowship programs in Wichita.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing preferred.
- Master's degree of Nursing required.
