The Medical Director will oversee the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to inmates at The Imperial Detention Center in Calexico, CA. Responsibilities
- Perform routine medical duties, including taking patient histories, conducting physical exams, and ordering lab tests.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patients' needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Serve as a liaison between healthcare providers and facility administrators to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Evaluate and improve existing healthcare programs to optimize patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited medical school and valid California medical license.
- Current DEA certification and BLS licensure.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in family medicine or internal medicine, preferably in a correctional setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with corrections policies and procedures, including security protocols and confidentiality guidelines.
