About this role:
As a PRN (part-time, as needed) Neurohospitalist Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (advanced practice provider; APP) at McKay-Dee Hospital, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you will be one of three dedicated neurohospitalists APPs at the facility, but part of the larger Neuroscience Institute group, including in-person and tele-neurohospitalists, neuro critical care physicians, outpatient neurologists, neuro and spine PM&R physicians, neuro-psychologists and psychiatrists. At McKay-Dee Hospital, you can expect to collaborate with 2 dedicated neurohospitalist APP's and 3 neurohospitalist physicians, as well as supported by nurses and other hospital staff.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- and -
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

- You will practice at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah
- You can expect to work at least 2-4 shifts per month, with a potential for additional shifts to cover PTO or sick days
- You will cover one hospital, consult-only service
- 24/7 service, providing inpatient neurohospitalist services; APPs work 7am-6pm, and can expect to cover holidays and weekends
- No night shift coverage

What you'll bring:
- APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program
- Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
- BLS certification and DEA
- Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process
