RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Northwell Health’s Department of OB/GYN is seeking a Residency Program Director to help begin Northern Westchester Hospital’s training program located in Mount Kisco, New York. We are seeking applicants with outstanding clinical and managerial skills and out of residency a minimum of 5 years. We prefer the applicant to have at least three (3) years’ experience in a leadership position in OB/GYN residency education (Associate Program Director or Program Director). The ideal candidate will provide oversight of the program to ensure regulatory compliance with the requirements of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), its Residency Review Committee (RRC), and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The candidate will also ensure the completeness of the educational training experience, comply with institutional and regulatory guidelines, and maintain the adequacy of the educational environment. Responsibilities will also include oversight of the candidate recruitment process, management of the program’s budget and review of performance measures and use of staff resources appropriate to the program’s need. In addition, the Director will participate in the institutional graduate medical education committee and provide supervision to fellows, residents and other trainees caring for patients under the auspices of the department.
This key leadership position will work collaboratively with Hospital and Health System leaders to meet and exceed the organization’s clinical, operational, and financial goals. The residency program provides advanced education in hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology, focused on maximizing patient safety. This program provides strong clinical, surgical and healthcare systems training in both academic and community hospital settings. High-quality training is given by experienced OB-GYN hospitalist, maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, family planning and urogynecology faculty. Residents are also exposed to national leaders in the specialty at the annual American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) meeting, where they can present research projects.
Northern Westchester Hospital has the exceptional expertise and technology needed to address the special needs of your pregnancy, including services for high-risk pregnancies, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and comprehensive treatment for premature care. The department is nationally recognized for its excellence in clinical care, research, and medical education. We are a consultative practice with a diverse work environment including office and inpatient high risk pregnancy consultation, perinatal ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis/procedures. We collaborate closely with pediatric sub-specialists of Cohen Children’s Medical Center in caring for pregnancies with complex congenital heart disease and a broad range of fetal conditions.
