Pine Rest is actively recruiting psychiatrists to provide services at the new Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), anticipated to open late Spring 2025, and the existing Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) that is also housed in the same building.
The CSU is a 12-bed, 24-hour unscheduled service for patients that need immediate assessment and stabilization in a crisis situation. The CSU aims to resolve crises within a few hours, but patients could stay up to 72 hours. It is designed to prevent individuals from going to jail, emergency departments and inpatient psychiatric hospitals.

Opportunity Overview:
- 7-day on, 7-day off schedule
- Each day during the 7-day block, the psychiatrist will be on call from 5 pm-8 am to answer calls from the APPs who will staff the center 24/7 and will need to return to the center in the event of a restraint
- Work in conjunction with an APP to provide psychiatric evaluations and physical exams to patients that walk into the CSU, and diagnose and formulate a treatment plan
- Round on patients already admitted and modify treatment plans as appropriate
- Assess patients for discharge readiness and place orders and prescriptions at the time of discharge
- Participate in team meetings
