The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry in the WVU School of Medicine seek psychiatrists in multiple disciplines. Our main practice site on the medical center campus is Healthy Minds Chestnut Ridge in Morgantown, WV. The satellite clinic sites in our Health System in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, and Virginia, are additional practice sites for which we recruit.
Whether your specialty is general, child and adolescent, geriatric, or another niche in psychiatry or psychology, we have a position for you. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in psychiatry.
TheWest Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, led by Dr. Ali Rezai, is expanding to include the clinical, research, and academic missions of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, among others. The Institute is spearheading efforts to develop innovative solutions for West Virginians and those across the world with neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer s to Parkinson s; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
Neuroscience, including behavioral health and addiction, is one of WVU Medicine s Signature Programs areas of opportunity that allow WVU Medicine to target major health disparities more aggressively in the state and continue to deliver real medical solutions that will have the most resounding impact on the citizens of West Virginia.
The West Virginia University Health System, with more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees across more than 20 member hospitals, is West Virginia s largest health system and the state s largest employer. Anchored by our 700-bed academic medical center, the System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children s Hospital in September 2022. We serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
