Appalachian Vascular and Interventional Radiology, located in Johnson City, Tennessee, is seeking Interventional Radiologists to provide services to Johnson City Medical Center.
Appalachian Vascular and Interventional Radiology is committed to serving the imaging and treatment needs of patients throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The IR section is clinic-based, but practices at Johnson City Medical Center, a 400-bed tertiary level 1 Trauma facility and a Stroke Center of Excellence. The IR section also covers Niswonger Children's Hospital and six other acute care facilities under an exclusive contract with Ballad Health, a not-for-profit health system based in the Appalachian Highlands Region.
Our interventional radiologists are leaders in bringing this modern specialty to our region. Our clinic-based practice consists of five advanced practice providers who handle all inpatient consultations and perform a wide range of procedures, allowing interventionalists to focus on the most complex cases and cutting-edge interventions. We have an exceptional, collaborative working relationship with the Ballad Health leadership team, which assures the technical and financial support to thrive both professionally and personally.
Compensation Details:
Situated in the Appalachian Mountains of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, the region has a service area catchment population of approximately 500,000. It offers a mild climate in all four seasons, extensive year-round outdoor recreational activities, a unique historic and cultural environment, excellent public and private schools, a stable economy, affordable housing and easy access to larger urban areas such as Knoxville, Tennessee and Asheville, North Carolina.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must be board certified/board eligible and have the ability to obtain a Virginia and Tennessee medical license. Candidates must be able to practice the full spectrum of interventional services, including oncology (Y90, chemoembolization, etc.), GI/Biliary, urological work, lower extremity venous cases along with bread and butter biopsies and drainage procedures. If willing to train in stroke thrombectomy, there is a significant increase in income potential. Internal training provided. IR Call is only at one location and would be 1:3-5. Call coverage is shared equally among all IR physicians.

Compensation Details:
- $600,000 base compensation - with ability to earn more compensation with Stroke Call
- $50,000 signing bonus
